Venom Lips

Thursday was another day at the office and by office I mean pharmacy. Not too much out of the ordinary happened today and we went about our business supplying the households of Central City with hormone replacement cream and nystatin troches. For supper I made macaroni and cheese with tuna and green beans that someone had brought to the pharmacy (Kentucky fresh). While that was cooking I also made a shortcake to go with strawberries we bought at Walmart on the way home. In the evening Josh was motivated to do some projects so I assisted him by playing various numbers on the guitar while he worked. My fingers got tired before he was done so he had to finish without me but I think I really increased his productivity numbers.

Friday was a day of projects in the pharmacy. Josh attempted to perfect his lip balm formula trying out some benzocaine to make the lips 'tingle' a bit. As the primary test dummy (maybe both meanings of the word) I was able to try it out. After my lips being numb for about 15 minutes I suggested that the concentration of benzocaine being decreased. Josh named this lip balm "venom lips" but I don't think you'll be seeing it on shelves anytime soon. Afterwards he made another lip balm with shea butter and beeswax which was a winner. I believe that will be his project formula. In the afternoon we set out to make some moisturizing hand cream. We made use of some expired ingredients since we were making the cream for project purposes. We made some substitutions and it ended up working out pretty well. If you are nice to me maybe I will bring you a sample of Strowdy's Old-Fashioned Moisturizer (old-fashioned meaning expired). In the evening Josh made supper which consisted of chunky soup served over rice with strawberry, spinach, turkey wraps. We went outside to walk around a little bit and our first stop was behind the house on the golf course. We were trying to get to the road across the pond but when Josh stepped out on one of the greens there was someone trying to tee off up above so we went back to the house. We threw around the football a little bit and then took a walk on the road that goes through the golf course.

This morning we slept in because we could. I made brunch of pancakes and fried eggs. We made sure to match our syrup brand to our pancake mix brand (the lady in Walmart said it tastes better that way and it looked like she knew what she was talking about). After lunch Josh ran, took a bike ride, and "basked in the rays of apollo". I worked on my project for Ron all afternoon. He wants me to research some of the natural medicines that can be used in the treatment and prevention of migraine. Josh worked hard on planning a trip for next weekend when his girlfriend Kayti comes to visit. I think he has a good plan going so I give him two thumbs up. I was hungry from brunch so Josh and I ordered a pizza online. Pizza Hut was running the special of $10 for any size and any toppings - so we took full advantage. We got a hand tossed pizza with pork, italian sausage, beef, pepperoni, ham, chicken, green peppers, pineapple, and jalapenos.

As a side note - Josh has been saying that he will take pictures off his phone for this whole month and finally today started to take action. Currently he has over 2,000 pictures which has caused him to delete almost all apps from his phone. A change is coming.

  1. Interesting, let me know when you figure out some natural medicines for migraines. I suffer from them for about 2 days every month and nothing seems to help.

Btw, good luck doing your rotation!
