This morning I woke up first and started making breakfast. I prepared six scrambled eggs along with cereal with carefully placed banana slices. Josh was ready a little earlier so he didn't have to eat in the car. It was already a nice morning when we headed into town for our third day of work. We were a little more comfortable with our morning routine and got the inventory stickered and on the shelf much quicker than the first two days. The employees said that we are really quiet but we really haven't had that much interaction with them since we are in the lab quite a bit. Before lunch Josh and I made a face cream with lavender scent and it turned out really nice. We packaged it in a pump bottle and sent it on its way. For lunch we had spinach turkey wraps again with chips and salsa. We discovered that next time we will have to buy the industrial size salsa because the large bottle only lasted three days. On our way back there was a blue jay chick on our steps and Josh was speaking bird to it. In the afternoon Josh made some capsules the old fashioned way because there was no plate the correct size to use in the capsule maker. He made 28 by hand only to find out that the patient wanted the loose powder. We had to empty them all out again...but it was good practice. The lead lab tech, Elva, got a new phone today and was trying it out. When she left some of the other girls came and started changing the ring tone and adding funny pictures of themselves. The one worker took our picture and made it her background photo. They all thought it was pretty funny, but we helped Elva change it back.
We got back to the apartment and packed up our things to head to Hilton Head. The owner, Ron, has given us off both tomorrow and Friday. Since we don't work the weekend we have four days off in a row. It happens that Josh's family is vacationing in Hilton Head and so we are driving there to stay with them. I have never been to the beach itself so I am very excited. We plan to leave Central City at 7:00, eat at Bob Evans in Bowling Green (gift card), and then head the rest of the way to Hilton Head. More details to follow.
Reflections: 1) Don't count your capsules until they're dispensed, 2) Lavender scent is very nice, 3) When it comes to salsa - go big or go hungry.
